Portfolio
Compiled in this tab are a variety of different assignments and pieces I have worked on through my time at Syracuse University.
All assignments below were created in a classroom setting and are not meant to be taken as fact. I chose to represent The Walt Disney Company, and created content related to it.
Campus Involvement
Baked Magazine
As a hardcore foodie, I was thrilled to find an entire organization dedicated to writing about and photographing food. I have been involved in Baked Magazine since my freshman year and served as a Senior Editor the last three semesters. Below are the pieces I have published, and we are currently working on the Spring 2021 issue!
Baked's Ultimate Bar Crawl (profile on lesser known Syracuse bars)
You Can Sit With Us (collaborative piece on Thanksgiving dishes)
Keep On Craving On (piece on the strangest craving of college students)
Hiking Hacks and Picnic Snacks (simple recipes for hiking or picnicking)
Cooking Show Clash 2K19 (March Madness style bracket of cooking TV shows)
Holla for Challah (profile on Challah for Hunger at Syracuse University Hillel)
Head On Down to Heritage Café (profile on Heritage Café located in Syracuse, NY)
Orange Central 2021: Syracuse University Campus Tour
Homecoming weekend at Syracuse University looked a little different in Fall 2020. One of my most rewarding roles throughout my college career has been my time spent with Syracuse University Admissions. I have been involved in Admissions since sophomore year giving tours and since Spring 2020 as a Senior Intern interviewing high school seniors interested in SU. For Homecoming, I was asked along with two of my fellow councilmembers of The Forever Orange Student Alumni Council to help make a video The Office of Alumni Engagement could send to all alumni to highlight the changes that have occurred on our campus because people are unable to visit. Syracuse has given me so much so I love being able to share everything it has given me with others.
Deconstructing the Divide, Social Media Director
During the fall of 2020, I was approached by Professor Jonathan Glass of the Newhouse School asking if I would want to help serve as Social Media Director for what was then called "The Inequality Project". I jumped at the idea of getting real life social media campaign experience, and joined the team in October.
For the next nearly 9 months, I sat in on hours of Zoom calls with a group of dedicated professors and student leaders working to organize a group of over 100 collaborators to cover a variety of stories about inequality and inequity in the Syracuse community. The end result was "Deconstructing the Divide" a multimedia project composed of over 40 stories looking at painful legacies, inequality now and constructing tomorrow with stories ranging from gender gaps to arts and inequality to after school programs in the Syracuse community.
The site officially went live on April 26, 2021, which is when my role as Social Media Director really began. Over the next few weeks, I will be utilizing the NewsHouse social channels on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to promote the stories and highlight the authors. Below are links to the site, the social channels, and some example posts from the social media campaign.
